All of ‘em bombs, they fall on orphanages!!
For the society that is ravaged by war and effective rule of the quasi government is limited to matters of war, Tamileelam seems to have an extraordinary number of orphanages. According to TamilNet, the SLA air strikes carried out aftermath of killing of 94 soldiers in Habarana again fell on an orphanage. This follows their recent claim that an orphanage housing teen age girls was bombed last month and several other orphanages were damaged in recent bombings. Every time a bomb is dropped they seem to find an orphanage. It is true that wars leave a lot of children orphaned but it is hard to believe that either the SLF has any purpose in bombing orphanages or that there are so many of them that every other bomb seem to fall on one. An alternately theory is that these so called orphanages are in fact training camps where young abductees are trained. Either way children shouldn't have to die!

If you carpet bomb the entire area you kill civilians - women and children. Sinhalese and Muslims. Tigers are in bunkers, airstrikes do nothing for them.
Yes it's propoganda but the government shouldn't be feeding it's propoganda machine. Don't be too quick to attribute competence and accuracy to the armed forces hierarchy. They are the ones that sacrifice low rankers.

Sohpie, agreed. Everyone here who favors carpet bombing should take responsible for this mess to have happened in the first place. We lost the war when it started way back in '83. The idiotic reaction of the Sinhalese people help the LTTE become what it is today. Any response to the attack should be carefully and strategically planned to focus on a long term solution. I commend the government's action to curb the violence on Tamil's in the south.
True, i think the current government is doing it well. Of-course there are a few issues, nevertheless, they are doing a good job!!!
