Luthra ducks Tiger artilery fire: 4 soldiers dead

BBC’s Dumeetha Luthra was among 25 journalists who had to scramble for cover when their convoy escorted by the SL Army came under LTTE attack. Luthra who is a seasoned reporter with years of experience in the Sri Lankan conflict has often criticized for being biased towards the Tamil Tigers was uninjured but 4 of the soldiers in the escort were killed. The reporters were escorted around the Muhumalai FDL for the first time since fighting broke out between the Tigers and the government soldiers. All the others reporters are also said to be safe and are now at the Palaly military base in Jaffna.

Poor Dumeetha Luthra, what happened? Didn't she inform her terrorist freinds? or has she said something against the leadership recently and they wanted her bumped off?

Feel sorry for the hardcore LTTE supporters. One word against them, you are 6 feet under!

what does it take for people to know that LTTE is a bunch of Terrorist.

Just imagine, this organisation claims they want peace now, and then they attack journalists ?? what double standard is that? Yet again, there is nothing new there....

Hahaha I wonder if Luthra still feels the same way about the Tigers!! I bet it is easy to stay in Colombo and play as if she is the authority on the subject which she reports with integrity and fairness. And then something like this happens - I hope she realizes what ordinary people, Tamil, Sinhalese and Muslims go thru everyday because of the terror brought on by vicious, selfish and bloodthirsty warloads!!

Pay raise for Dumeetha. Lucky Girl. SL is another good place (after Africa) for any journalist to come in and build up the carrier in fast track.

Are you sure Luthra is a seasoned journalist? She seems a fresh-out-of-journalism-school type to me.

i don’t think she is a journalist. She is like the porn stars, who wants to make a buck.

the best way for that is to criticize a government and be bias towards a terrorist organization?

Your blog post made me reconsider my understandings of the words 'seasoned' and 'journalist'. I was write the first time though.

While googling for a definition of 'unprofessional', 'misinformed' and 'opportunistic' - I was served variations of Dhumeetha and Luthra.

Sadly the Tigers have failed in their deadly attempts twice when they really should have succeeded. CBK and now DL. Sigh...the fates conspire to perpetuate incompetent cows to shape mass opinion.

She has nice tits though.

Wow! Our boys are really desperate to get laid! A BBC reporter got attached and we get turned on by it?

We need Fashion TV in Sri Lanka soon as possible - Not BBC – before our boys go to next level - and get turned on by Christiana Amanpour!

Amanpour standing on middle of dead Africans and talking about Aids – and our guys fantasize about her tits.. Dam! We need Fashion TV right now. Not BBC.

Fashion TV is not good enough. We need the live sex channels. After all, people do need to know what to do right?

May be Kamasuthra?
