Security Forces has barred foreign aid workers from entering rebel controlled areas in what appears to further indication of the army's intent to push towards Killinochchi. The foreign aid workers attached to various non-governmental organizations were requested to suspend activities in the the Vanni area due their safety. The directive comes amid stepped up air attacks by the Sri Lankan Air Force on LTTE targets near Kilinochchi where the leader of LTTE, Prabhakaran, is said to be hiding in heavily fortified network of bunkers.
