Security Forces Push Towards Kilinochchi Despite Heavy Resistance

According to the military, the security forces entered the town of Murikandi amid heavy resistance from the LTTE. Murikandi is located about 20km from the Tiger de facto capital Kilinochchi. Meanwhile, the LTTE said the advances of the army was thwarted inflicting heavy casualties to the army. The pro-LTTE website TamilNet has posted photographs of large cache of weapons said to have been siezed from the army in the latest confrontations.
