85 Soldiers Dead - Pro-LTTE Website

Pro-LTTE sources has reported that the Sri Lankan security forces has lost up to 85 soldiers in fighting Vannearikkulam in Kilinochchi district. Sources for ministry of defence, however, said the operations in Vanni is progressing well despite heavy resistance. The casualty figures published by defence.lk is far lower than those indicated by the pro-LTTE sources. Independent verification of battlefield casualties is impossible as journalists are not allowed near the northern front lines.
