Hero’s day speech of no consequence

Prabhakaran’s Hero’s day speech seemed to have essentially fallen flat on its face. His state-of-the-non-existent-union speech might have bumped the motivation of the seemingly apathetic LTTE cadres a notch but it also set off worldwide condemnation and highlighted and the ridiculousness of the idea of an independent homeland for a group considered by the civilized world to be terrorists. US led the way with the spokesman for the State Department saying the US government is “disturbed” by the reports in which the LTTE leader called the 2002 ceasefire defunct. India also reiterated that while in favor of granting autonomy to the Tamils, they support a unified Sri Lanka.

The Washington Times’ op/ed slammed the “terrorists LTTE” for trying to shift the blame for the conflict from Prabhakaran’s “violent rebel group to the Sri Lankan government” and accused the LTTE of preventing 20,000 tons of government food supplies from reaching the Tiger controlled areas. Despite its own large scale propaganda, the LTTE pro-violent message of independence is failing to reach the international community and more significantly the moderate Tamils.

Mr Prabha should be captured and tried for crimes against humanity. HE only thinks about him and no one else. Stupid Tamils are being used for his goals.

At this point, allowing the LTTE to continue to plague the overseas tamil diaspora for funding at very high risk to their (overseas tamils') own foreign luxury lives serves a purpose. Other than for the few idiots, the majority already understands the futility of the war, and unlike the few, the majority is worried over their own welfare, and existance in those countries.
Giving a little bit more rope to those who no option but to hang themselves is poetic justice.

Just out of curiousity, what was this goody goody peace keeping government of SL doing during the tsunami time? What happened to all the donations and fundings given by the western countries? Don't defend SL government by simply saying LTTE prevented them from supplying the effected north area with supplys, or don't simply say all the supplys were abducted by LTTE. Thats just impossible. Its the government. And LTTE is a terrorist group, if the government really thought of the good of the effected people, would have found some mean to get to all the parts of North. Plus, out of curiosity, what was the reason for the SL Army to buy millitary weapons during the recovery from such disaster, use bombs and guns to save the civilians from the sea disaster?
