LTTE writes off lost land?

According to TamilNet, Thamilselvan has said that there will be "no peace moves until Colombo respects the CFA borders". This comes at a time when SL Army has wrapped up operations to captured Sampur, a strategic LTTE stronghold in the east of Sri Lanka. The offensive altered the demarcation of government-LTTE areas for the first time since the ceasefire agreement signed over 4 years ago. While many analysts believed the LTTE will counter-attack and attempt to re-capture the town of Sampur Thamilselvan’s latest statement cast doubt about such a possibility. The LTTE seems to have written off the area around Sampur and trying use political means to win back the lost land. The government has insisted the offensive to capture Sampur was a defensive measure to secure the port of Trincomalee which has been under Tiger artillery fire from Sampur.

It is all part of the plan. They will strike back pretty soon.

Do you expect the LTTE not to retaliate? You have to be very naive to think that. I suggest you postpone the celebrations. Because there is going to be a lot of mourning to come.
