The secret rendezvous

The details of the meeting between Blair and Rajapakse still remain very much a mystery with no official information yet divulged by either government. The Sri Lankan embassy is mum about it as is the No. 10. It was thought the meeting was an attempt by Rajapakse to persuade UK to influence India in favor of the Sri Lankan government. But you wonder what Blair can do to change the Vaiko’s hold on the Indian government. Vaiko, an influential Tamil politician in India, has advocated a separate state policy for Tamils in Sri Lanka. Vaiko’s sudden interest in defending the Sri Lankan Tigers comes amidst allegations that somce Tamil politicians may have received payoffs to support the LTTE. The LTTE was responsible for the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi as well as many other notable politicians, peace activists, journalists and hundreds of other civilians mainly in Sri Lanka. So could it be then possible Rajapakse is asking Blair to try and free the Indian government's policy on Sri Lanka of LTTE's influence gained by bribes?
