“On our side we are fully committed to it.” - S. Puleedevan on the ceasefire

According to Tamilnet.com, the head of the LTTE peace secretariat S. Puleedevan has told Reuters that the SL army operation in Sampur is a “severe breach of the ceasefire agreement. “On our side we are fully committed to it” he said of the 4 year old ceasefire that was blatantly violated 4176 times by the LTTE compared to the 276 by the Sri Lankan government forces. After the heavy defeat in Sampur, LTTE is now expecting the government to adhere to the ceasefire agreement which was sponsored by the Norwegians. Norwegians (and the Norwegian sponsored SLMM who monitor the violations) have criticized the government and the LTTE on several occasions for specific violations but have done little to blame the LTTE for the huge disparity in the number of violations which has ultimately reignited the conflict.
