JVP quits, Chandrika shaky, UNP grinning

At midnight yesterday the Janatha Vimukthi Perumuna, (JVP) left the coalition headed by President Chandrika Kumaratunga. The coalition which was called United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) was formed at the last election to defeat the UNP led by Ranil Wickremesinghe.
