Sri Lanka expecting attacks by LTTE after self-imposed ceasefire
After declaring a unilateral ceasefire for 11 days that coincided with the annual SAARC summit held in Colombo, LTTE is expected to increase attacks on the military as well as civilian targets according to military experts in Colombo. The military who did not acknowledge the ceasefire said LTTE has suffered heavy losses and the ceasefire was an attempt to buy time to regroup. The military in the meantime said they have advanced into the Killinochchi district where the elusive leader of the LTTE Prabhakaran is said to be based. The LTTE has denied losses and claims to have repulsed advances by the army.
