TamilNet gets one right ... well sorta
It's seldom that TamilNet publishes a report which acknowledges that the LTTE is engaged in terrorist activities and that the government's military offensive is indeed a response to curtail terrorism. Well ... the unofficial mouthpiece of the LTTE, TamilNet, has still not really done that but in what appears to be a sharp contrast to TamilNet's usual anti-government propaganda, an article published on May 11th admitted that the Archbishop of Canterbury - a foreign religious figure with no specific political alignment in Sri Lanka - has gone on the record saying the military action is "inevitable" and is a "reflexive response" to the terrorist activities of the LTTE.
But as expected, the article also reflected on the objection made by the Mahanayaka of the Asgiriya Chapter on foreign religious leaders interfering in internal matters.
Recent articles also accurately reported that the U.S. is sticking to the policy of supporting the Sri Lankan government's fight against LTTE terrorism.

Tamilnet must be changing its colors. may be it now knows the LTTE has no chance.
Hear TamilNet boss was threatned by the LTTE and so he is pissed off.
TamilNet is trying to gain some credibitlity after hitting the rock bottom with its absurd pro-ltte fantasy stories. the word is even the pro-ltte tamils stopped reading it. a much better and a neutral souce is infolanka and theacademic.org. and of course lankawatch.
I think Tamilnet is more professionally credible than other LTTE websites, ie: SiberNews, Lankaenews etc. They do try to balance out things although they have an underlying agenda. The reason I think is that while other sites are aimed at die hard supporters and the diaspora, Tamilnet is for external observers, who have access to these things from other sources anyway, so there's no point in pretending the Archbishop never said that. Tamilnet does publish a lot of bullshit, but they hide it among real reports so many people get duped into believing them. Tamilnet is the most quoted Sri Lankan news source in international media.
Tamilnet and all Sri Lankan media are full of shit. They blatantly lie to the people. The war is going to break out soon.

The tamil nationalist movement is realizing that the cause is now lost, and velu is the biggest burden, and the reason for its demise. So far they have been unable to remove this cancer from its long term goals and thus rejuvenate the so called 'freedom struggle' under a cleaner visage. TC (Tamil Chelvan) was supposed to have bcome the face of tamil nationalism with no criminal past attached to him. But Velu remains in full charge, and has now inducted his son as the heir-apparent to the criminal enterprise tamil nationalism has now become.
Those who want to revive tamil nationalism want velu removed, without damaging the LTTE's credibility. Tamilnet is aware of this need.
SLG must understand its strategic goals and make sure that in combating the LTTE threat, it decimates the organization's credibility and the lines of succession simultaneously, if we are to deal a long-lasting crippling blow to tamil racism.
True.. Assassination of Tamil Chelvan and Charles Antony should be top priority for the government. I wouldn't mind even if they have to kill 100 civilians to get rid of these two.

LTTE is a terrorist organisation and so is tamilselvan or praba or his son (what praba doesnt know is that thats not his son... Famous Scandal in the LTTE).

If you all really care about the war, go and live in SL (better North or east) and then you will feel the pain of the innocent tamils who are suffering without the bare basics. I am a tamil and have lived in the North and have nothing against the sinhalese absolutely. I am a supporter of peace, I think hatred is not going to bring peace.

GOSL has banned internet access to tamilnet for SL users - what for?. I'm sinhalese but I don't agree with the way things are going. I think the govt. is enforcing the fact that sinhalese are unreasonable (we had enough bad publicity with the silly eviction) and making sure we get isolated from the rest of the world - god knows for what reason.
Yuh gotta understand.
