TamilNet failing LTTE leadership?

Anyone know why the TamilNet site has effectively stopped reporting about the battles raging in the North and the East? It is widely assumed the Tigers are suffering heavy casualties and the army has been gaining ground. I suppose it would be foolish for the LTTE’s mouthpiece to report defeats. After all, the LTTE relies on the Tamil diaspora to raise money for their terror campaign and negative publicity will cost them the air conditioned office space in Killinochchi. TamilNet has instead focused on the two week old story hoping to bring the Sri Lankan government into disrepute. Thus the reason for still going on about the school children killed just before they were recruited to the LTTE by force. With the EU banning the LTTE and the FBI arresting LTTE agents the TamilNet has hit the panic button. LTTE, thought to be the unsinkable, is taking in water. All of this means the TamilNet has seriously failed the LTTE leadership in delivering the right kind of image it would have liked to portray.
