Sri Lanka government calls on Tiger cadres to surrender

Aug 14, Colombo: The Sri Lanka government yesterday issued a special announcement to the cadres of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) to surrender to the Sri Lanka government security forces.

The government said that information reaching security forces confirm that LTTE cadres are deserting their organization, despite their leadership's orders, following the LTTE's “continuous defeats” against the security forces in the confrontations that took place in Muttur, Mavilaru and Jaffna over the past few days.
