Decoding TamilNet (cont.): The victims were LTTE recruits

Aug 15, Colombo: No one seems to be too surprised as another of the TamilNet report is losing its sizzle as the true facts are being unrevealed. The TamilNet report claimed 61 school orphan girls were killed earlier yesterday. According to sources the victims were recruits stationed in a LTTE training camp as opposed the TamilNet report which claimed the dead were girls living in an orphanage. Sadly some of the victims may have been under the age of 18 kidnapped by the LTTE to be forced into fighting. The government vehemently denied reports that the target was an orphanage and confirmed they air force successfully targeted and destroyed a LTTE training camp. The defense ministry as well the internationally community has repeatedly called on the LTTE to refrain from recruiting children and to release all underage individuals conscripted to the LTTE ranks.
