LTTE blocks Sri Lankan Premier's proposed visit to Christian shrine
Aug 9 (AsianTribune) The Tamil rebels do not favor Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse’s proposed visit to the sacred Catholic shrine at Madhu in the rebel controlled north. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) did not favour the proposed visit when Bishop of Mannar Rev. Royappu Joseph informed them about the Prime Minister’s desire to visit the shrine in Madhu located in the Mannar district, on August 15 for the annual feast.
