Shooting of SL Army men a defensive action - LTTE

Colombo, 25 February, (Asiantribune.com): It was only a defensive action and not a planned attack on the Sri Lanka Army's Forward Defence Line on 23 rd evening at a no man’s land announced, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in a press release about the killing of the Sri Lanka's soldier and injuring another.



The shooting occurred near Muhamalai, about 300 kilometers (190 miles) north of the capital, Colombo, after the soldiers advanced toward rebel positions according to the version of the Tamil rebels.



When the Tamil Tigers, reported the incident to the cease-fire monitors, they said that soldiers had approached and aimed at rebels before Wednesday's shooting.
