UN starts to monitor child soldiers, LTTE under pressure

Feb 24, Colombo: The United Nations Security Council yesterday said it has started to monitor the use of child soldiers as per a proposal by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

Benin's Foreign Minister Rogatien Biaou, who chaired Wednesday's Council meeting, said the Council is determined to "put an end to impunity" for those that use children as fighters.
