SC orders P.B. Jayasundera to file affidavit by October 20
Former Secretary to the Treasury P.B. Jayasundara yesterday told the Supreme Court that he no longer hold any public office and tendered an unreserved apology for the holding public office exceeding the time stipulated by the Supreme Court judgment that disqualified him to hold any public office.
The Court however granted him time till October 20 to file an affidavit outlining as to how he had complied with the Court order. President's Counsel Faiz Musthapha for the former Secretary submitted that his client had also resigned from the chairmanship of the SriLankan Airlines. The former Secretary was appeared before the Court on notice to appraise the Court whether he is holding any public office or not.
