Attorney General C.R. De Silva retires
The Attorney General's Department yesterday accorded a farewell to Attorney General C.R. De Silva PC who retired from the post of Attorney General after 33 years of service in the AG's Department.
Outgoing Attorney General C.R. De Silva paid his gratitude to officers and his colleagues in the field who helped him in the discharge of his duties as AG.
De Silva hinted at the ceremony that he would soon be joining the unofficial bar on his retirement.
De Silva, a leading prosecutor who had served as the Solicitor General for few years before becoming the Attorney General last week tendered his resignation papers to the President who had given him an extension for six months from last August.
De Silva, a son of former Supreme Court justice K.B.De Silva received his education at Royal College Colombo and Law College. Silva represented Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
