President Mahinda Rajapaksa, welcomed a group of schoolchildren from Northern Province at Temple Trees on the 9th of September. The schoolchildren who had come to attend National Sports Festival held in Colombo during this week were accompanied by Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare Hon. Douglas Devananda.

During the meeting, about 350 students of 27 schools along with their teachers had a cordial discussion with the President. The students informed the President about the problems they are facing at present. This is what needs to be done, show the tamil community in the north that the government will do whatever possible to accomodate their requirements.

However, actual implementation needs to be carried out without offering false promises!
