TamilNet’s spin on the Jordanian Ship short lived

Despite the initial reports of the TamilNet that paid tribute to the LTTE for saving the crew of a Jordanian ship, it has come to light the ship was in fact hijacked by members of the LTTE and its cargo looted. International news media, including the AFP has reported the incident as an act of piracy and the crew of the ship has confirmed that the LTTE has fired upon the vessel and forced the crew out of the ship. The crew was later handed over to the ICRC and are reported safe, but a number of crew members have received minor injuries at the hands of the Tamil Tigers while they were being transported out of the ship.

Does anyone read Tamilnet to get news? It is so inaccurate and worse of all unconstructive. TamilNet spreads hatred and violence.

02/01/2007 --- as yet no progress has been reported on the piracy. One wonders if its a gift of 14000MT of rice to the Tamil Tigers by MR.
