Sri Lanka's displaced Muslims inhumanely evicted from their camp
Colombo, 11 August, (Asiantribune.com): Nearly 3000 Muttur refugees who were staying at Parameswara school, Peraru West in Kanthale were forcibly evicted early this week by the school authorities on grounds that they had to reopen the school.
"The refugees were shocked when the school authorities told them to vacate suddenly and they had no transport arrangement to move out having arrived only on Friday evening after a long and dangerous march," the Peace Secretariat for Muslims said.
When the refugees pleaded with them for another day extension, the school authorities had warned them that they would not be responsible for the safety of the refugees in the night.
