Sampoor Clear Operations Continue

TRINCOMALEE: THE ONGOING COMBINED SEARCH AND CLEAR OPERATIONS of the Security Forces in and around SAMPOOR area, in close proximity to the historic TRINCOMALEE harbour will continue until ground troops ensure that LTTE would not use the area as a launching pad for artillery and mortar attack.

Dominating troops covered an area of 2 km as of Wednesday (30) evening after clearing the areas of booby traps, landmines, claymore mines and other explosive devices.
