SL offensive may win battles but is killing the hopes for peace
Does any actually believe the SL Army is only taking defensive action? It is pretty clear the government is on an offensive to capture LTTE-held land. The president seems to be motivated by the historical figures like Dutu Gemunu and raging war in aim of a decisive victory. He his backed by the now-ruthless Sarath Foneseka, who obviously has revenge on his mind. Together they make a deadly combination that could plunge the country into abyss of war and destruction. Together they are ruining the only hope for peace. I have no doubt the army will gain some land and capture some key locations, but many a life will be lost and above all the government will lose the hearts and minds of Tamils who counted on the successive governments to bring about permanent peace.

Well said! Little does the president know he is taking the country backwards.
You are wrong my son, if the government is loosing the support of the tamil community and if they dont care, they will not send container loads of food and medicine to them. also the SLA has accepted all forced LTTE Terrorist without any issue. Such acts will not happen if the government and the SLA is not dedicated.
If you read legitimate news articles, you will see that government has always said they are ready for negotiations and willing to get back to it, its the Terrrorist, the LTTE who is not willing.
What peace for them now, they lost any credibility they had, so until they gain some power, they will not come to the table.
It is our duty to stop them from getting that power, and crack down all terrorist and their supporters!!!!!!
Very naive!! You actually believe the government is sending food because they love the Tamils? Have you heard of PR? Every Tamil person government kills a 10 will support the LTTE!
