Lankan rupee shows gradual appreciation

COLOMBO: There is a gradual drop in the exchange rate. This indicates a lot more confidence in the appreciation of the Sri Lanka rupee against the dollar.

This is a reflection of positive results seen over the last few days. It also shows a higher rate of export earnings. The fact is that the development bonds were oversubscribed by 115 per cent since the issuing of bonds last time, Market sources said.
