Massive transport strike cripples Sri Lanka

Aug 9 (ColomboPage) Millions of people in Sri Lanka faced disruption when transport workers started their strike this morning. Almost all private and government institutions and schools were forced to close since this morning as private bus operators, three-wheel drivers and school van operators launched a massive strike from midnight yesterday crippling the entire country to oppose new traffic fines introduced by the government.
