Strong No-Confidence vote Against Reginald Cooray, Monday

The stage is set for incumbent SLFP Western Provincial Council Chief Minister to face a day of reckoning come Monday when a strong UNP led Opposition submits a No-Confidence motion to oust him. Committees and Presidential commissions have been deemed illegal and unconstitutional as measures aimed at buttressing the CM in his position. With the JVP decamping to opposition ranks in the PC, the UNP led opposition which has a clout of 68 votes excluding the JVP's 23, against a mere 36 at the SLFP's disposal, the way is now clear for a definite ouster of the SLFP's top man in the Western Provincial Council.
