Set-backs for Norwegians in Sri Lanka
In two separate incidents the Norwegian Foreign Ministry and the Norwegian-led Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) were confronted with two different reactions to their roles in Sri Lanka. In the first instance, the request of Vidar Helgesen, the Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister, to meet Velupillai Prabhakaran, has not met with any promising prospects. He is due to arrive in Colombo tomorrow. But Kilinochchi is not so keen to meet as he is to meet Prabhakaran. Unless there is a last minute change he will have to go back home with talking only to S. Paramu. Tamilselvam, the leader of the Political Wing of the LTTE in Killinochchi.
