Launch new investigation on senior Police officers -- Human Rights Watch

The New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called for a new investigation to identify the police officers responsible for the killings of the 27 Tamil detainees at the Bindunuwewa detention facility in October 2000. Last week's acquittal by the Sri Lankan Supreme Court of all defendants in the mob killing of demonstrates the failure of the Sri Lankan justice system to address crimes against alleged Tamil Tiger members, Human Rights Watch said today.
