LTTE made use of humanitarian relief food convoy to smuggle explosives
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam has made use of the humanitarian relief mission convoy to smuggle explosives. According to Vavuniya Police sources, the Police have detected 2.5 Kg of C4 explosives in a motor lorry in the food convoy headed for the Wanni at Vavuniya last evening.
Subsequently, when Sri Lanka army checked another lorry, they found out an inbuilt secret iron safe box and army opened the safe box with support of welder cutters and found in the box 28,500 pen-touch batteries, which are used by LTTE for joney mines.
The drivers of both lorries were taken in for questioning. Vavuniya Police are investigating.
