Heavy Fighting Rages In Jaffna
JAFFNA: LTTE (Tamil Tigers) directed heavy volume of both direct and indirect fire on Forward Defence Line (FDL) positions in KILALY, JAFFNA around 6.30 p.m.
Wednesday (16). Heavy concentration of fire by the LTTE was fallowed by a ground attack in considerable strength.
A flotilla of boats carrying its cadres from NAGATHEVANTHURAI in un-cleared areas was observed by ground troops and those were effectively engaged by Air Force craft and Artillery causing heavy damages and casualties among its cadres on boats.
