Food stocks in Jaffna sufficient until Wednesday - Ship still in Colombo

Over 350,000 people in the Jaffna peninsula who are caught in raging fighting between security forces and the LTTE from the 11th and the resultant police curfew are compelled to pay exorbitant prices for essential food items to eke out a living.

Jaffna Government Agent K.A.Ganesh has warned that food stocks are only sufficient until Wednesday. When contacted by 'Lanka e News' to verify the situation, the GA said he is unable to give details to the media.
