Victory a 'mandate for peace'

Apr 1 (BBC) The voters in Sri Lanka have endorsed the government’s attempts to make peace with the Tamil Tigers, victorious UPFA has claimed. Government’s chief negotiator Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the public have given a mandate for UPFA government to continue negotiations with the LTTE to find a lasting solution to Sri Lanka’s national question.
