Postal votes confirm southern support for Mahinda

Nov 18 (LankaWatch.com) Mahinda took a strong lead in the election as the numbers from the postal votes of the southern district of Hambantota gave him 6,918 of the 9,591 valid votes.

With the majority of votes yet to be counted, including the districts with large population of minority voters who are expected to support My Ranil Wickramasinghe, these results are not necessarily an indication of the final outcome.
