One killed after Sri Lanka police open fire on Tamil rally

Police opened fire Monday when Tamil activists became unruly during a rally demanding the removal of a security checkpoint in eastern Sri Lanka, and one demonstrator was later found dead and another wounded, a military spokesman said.
