FM invites NGOs to start post Tsunami reconstruction
May 6 (Kuwait News Agency) -- Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar said Friday that he has informed 67 International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Geneva today that they are welcome to start reconstruction operations in his country in favor of the survivors of the Tsunami disaster waves that caused a catastrophe in a number of shores along the Indian Ocean including Sri Lanka on December 26, 2004. Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister added that NGOs have lots of funds under their disposal for the Tsumani stricken countries and that such funds are estimated to be over USD billion.
