U.S. official, Norwegian peace envoy visit Sri Lanka's east amid tensions

April 19 (AP) A senior U.S. official and Norway's peace envoy began separate visits Tuesday to Sri Lanka's volatile eastern region amid violence and that has threatened to derail a fragile cease-fire between government forces and Tamil Tiger rebels.
