Sri Lanka plunges into nationwide blackout

April 4 (sify.com) - Colombo: Sri Lanka was plunged into a nationwide blackout on Monday as power supplies failed, possibly linked to lightning strikes on power distribution equipment, the state-run Ceylon Electricity Board said.
