Opposition vows to defy emergency

Feb 16 (SAMN) UNP vowed Tuesday it would defy certain provisions of the new emergency regulations and risk arrest. "Whenever the government uses emergency powers to suppress a legitimate struggle by someone or some group, we shall defy the government to safeguard democracy. Let them arrest us," UNP frontliner Rajitha Senaratne said.
