Few points to think about
Ealaam existed only in the mind of one Tamil politician named Chelvanayagam, who was deported from Malaya by Sir Tunku Abdul Rahman, Prime Minister of the newly Independent Malaysia back in 1955 because Chelvanayagam and a band of Tamils were demanding a separate State for the Tamils in Malaysia. He brought his frustrations to Sri Lanka, and started poisoning the minds of Tamil politicians with the same thought, and they also took up the cry, mainly as a ploy to gain Tamil votes.
Since then, the LTTE has killed all the Tamil politicians and hijacked the idea of Ealaam, which they want to control as a heaven for their International Mafia operations, and guess what, most of these mafia operations are to obtain funds by force from the Tamil diasporas overseas. Back in 1983, about 11.5% of the population were Tamils. Since then, more than a million Tamils have left for other countries, and according to the CIA World book, Tamils number only about 6.5%. No census has been permitted by the LTTE since 1983 for fear of this small number being found out.
Fully 80% of the Tamils are living among the Sinhalese and Muslims and Burghers in the government areas. The only Tamils with the LTTE are those they are keeping forcibly as human shields. The Sri Lanka Government is not fighting the Tamils, but fighting the terrorists led by a ruthless killer, Prabhakaran, to save the Tamils more than anyone else.
Does this sound as if the Tamils are being killed in Sri Lanka, or the Terrorists are being killed? If the Sri Lanka government is killing Tamils, then why are 80% of the tamils still living in the government controlled areas and not running for safety to Killinochi? Why is it that the Tamils in Killinochi are forever trying to escape from the LTTE? One only has to talk to those who have been successful to find out. It is as much in the interests of the Tamils that these Tamil terrorists are killed as anyone else.

Chelvanayagam is the only legend to be produced by Sri Lanka.
How sad is that? I thought Tamils were smart and intelligent people.
Chelvanayagam was a true patriot of Sri Lanka and the sole representative of the Tamil people around the world. This is a strategic move by the Sinhala governments to discredit such legendary heros.
