Annual festival of Nallur Kovil commenced - Jaffna















The annual festival of the sacred Nallur Hindu Temple (Kovil) in Jaffna commenced with the participation of a large gathering of devotees on 6th August according to defence sources.

The religious ceremonies will be held on the sacred premises for nearly a month while the final "Pooja" is scheduled to be held on 1st September 2008.

Further, special security and transportation arrangements have already been made to provide facilities and conveniences for all devotees who attend the ceremony from many areas of the Jaffna peninsula and elsewhere under direct supervision and guidance of Maj. Gen. G.A Chandrasiri, the commander of Security Force Head Quarters (Jaffna).
