Civilians protest LTTE abductions in Sri Lanka

Aug 3 (ColomboPage) Several hundred civilians at the ECC junction in Ampara yesterday protested against the LTTE's continuing abduction of innocent civilians. Military sources said that hundreds of civilians from the Pannalgama, Bakmitiyawa and Ampara areas demanded the immediate release of two recent LTTE victims, H.S.N. Prema Jayantha (20) and D.R. Dissanayake (18), who were abducted by armed LTTE cadres on July 30.
