Ethnic communities in Sri Lanka: Deeply divided or not?

May 4 (SCOPP) S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike was a visionary who realized the potential of federalism as a political system to keep a multi cultural society intact. As a testimony to his far-sightedness, he first advocated federalism as the best option for this island as far back as 1926, exactly 30 years before he introduced the Sinhala Only policy.
