'Tsunami joint mechanism now'

March 31 (BBC) - Trade unions and mass organisations urged the government to establish a joint mechanism with Tamil Tigers for tsunami relief work. Demonstrating in front of the Colombo Fort railway station on Wednesday, they demanded the government stop privatisation plans and safeguard the rights of workers.
