Buddhist temple comes under grenade attack

Mar 19, (LankaPage) Colombo: The Borelasgamuwa Pillawa Buddhist temple came under grenade attack early today. A young Samanara with injuries, though not critical, has been admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, police sources said. The Officer in Charge of the Borelasgamuwa Police said the hand grenade was thrown at the resting room (Avasaya Ge). The incumbent monk, Polonnaruwe Seelananda Thera, was in the Dharma Sala but the young student bhikku had been resting on a mattress on the floor of the room when it came under attack.
