"Withdraw Buffer Zone or we will fast unto death," Eastern fishermen warn

(LankaMuslims) Wednesday, 16 February 2005 Fishermen from the Maruthamunai village are warning of an uprising, if authorities fail to withdraw the '200 metres buffer zone rule' for the Kalmunai Division. "we will give the Government 'considerable' time, but if there is no proper feedback, then we will launch a massive fast unto death in front of the Divisional Secretariat's office in Kalmunai," fishermen are reported to have warned, when they met SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem on Sunday.
