UN's bid for political role irks south Lankans

Feb 18 (HT) The United Nations is trying to acquire a greater political role in the peace process in Sri Lanka, Hindustan Times learns. As part of this venture, Secretary General Kofi Annan had sounded the Sri Lankan Government about the possibility of posting an UN Envoy in Colombo.
