Rajapaksa says govt ready to talk, but not LTTE

Feb 23, Colombo: Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has told a group of Jaffna-based journalists that the Sri Lankan government was always ready for peace talks but the LTTE's unavailability has been a hindrance.

A large number of journalists from Jaffna met the Prime Minister, JVP parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa and Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle in parliament yesterday.
