Dialogue with civil society to continue into the post-tsunami reconstruction phase

Feb 16th, ReliefWeb - Addressing a meeting with civil society representatives working in Sri Lanka on tsunami relief and reconstruction on 3rd February, Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar together with the Minister of Finance and Planning Sarath Amunugama, expressed the Government's gratitude for the vital role played by local and international NGOs in the emergency relief phase after the tsunami disaster. The Minister highlighted the importance of cohesiveness and cooperation among all stakeholders, and emphasized that an active dialogue with the NGO community would continue in the reconstruction phase.
